4th  Guards Infantry Brigade 2nd Guards Grenadier Regiment Formed on 14th October 1814, garrisoned in Berlin. 4th Guards Grenadier Regiment Formed on 5th May 1860, garrisoned in Berlin. The 4th Guards Infantry Brigade was transferred to the 220th Infantry Division on the 15th January 1917.	4th Guards Grenadiers

The 2nd Guards Division was formed from the Guards Corps and comprised of the 3rd and 4th Guards Brigades.

In 1914 it fought on the Western Front, at most notably at Artois and Ypres, it then went into reserve before entraining for the Eastern Front where it took part in the Gorlice-Tarnow Battle.

By September 1915 it was back on the Western Front where it was engaged in the Flanders area and on the Somme.

In 1917 it fought at Verdun on the Western Front and Riga on the Eastern Front.  It ended the war in the West
