On 17th September 1915 the Army was desolved, and its units moved to other armies.
II Corps was transferred to the 9th Army on the Eastern Front
III Corps was transferred to the 7th Army on the Western Front
IV Corps was transferred to the 6th Army on the Western Front
IX Corps was transferred to the 2nd Army on the Western Front
III Reserve Corps was transferred to the 4th Army on the Western Front
IV Reserve Corps was transferred to the various units along the Western Front
General Alexander von Kluck commanded the Army until March 1915. He was replaced by General Max von Fabeck from the 11th Army.
